Obscured Light: <\/strong>a conceptual fine art series.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Obscured Light is an experimental portrait series. In which I am working with obstructing the light as it reaches and records on the camera’s sensor. All images are made in camera without the help of post processing. Each image is a combination of calculated composition. As well as the beauty of the unknown and random interactions between various layers of light.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To summarize, these images translate into a two dimensional visual field emotions. Including the obscurities of humanity and our environments.\u00a0

Inspiration and history:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Obscured Light series started in 2015. I was living & working in NYC. There, the abstract art many of my fellow artists were creating at the time influenced this work. Also the beauty found in the randomness of life is a driving force behind this series. Living in NYC, I spent many hours on the subway. Seeing faces reflected through the windows, obscured by various fleeting flashes of light. These collective experiences inspired me to create the Obscured Light Series. The abstraction that created by using multiple-exposures captures the complexity of self reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This series represents a shift in my personal work. Before creating the this series my personal work often felt dark. Expressing the rage and disappointment I felt by the injustices of society. Images such as the Distorted Fishnets<\/a> series, Dolls<\/a>, and Edible<\/a>. But in this case, with this series I experienced a shift. Finding and focusing on beauty. Because joy can in itself be a form of resistance. So, creating thought-provoking and soothing images is the goal for the Obscured Light series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
