Project Overview:
Wine still life and product photography for Carboniste Wines. For this client the project included creating clean, catalog photography for their wines. As well as creating styled still life images that capture the playfulness and creativity of the Carboniste brand. The wine still life images have a wide aspect ratio to fit banner image use. Banner images require special attention to composition and design to feel cohesive. You can’t just crop any image to a wide aspect ratio. Since instagram allows wide images these still life photos are great for both instagram and website use.
About the Makers & the Winery:
Carboniste is a northern California based Winery. Their focus is breathing new life into the wine industry. Producing modern sparkling wines, made by hand in the Napa Valley. Carboniste is owned and operated by Husband and Wife team Jacqueline and Dan Person.
Fun Facts:
I met Jacqueline at the inaugural Della Donna event. Which I had the pleasure of photographing. Della Donna is a festival that celebrates womxn winemakers and proprietors. The world of wine – like so many industries is a male dominated place that can be hard to break into as a woman winemaker. Commercial photography is also a field that is male dominated. So I am always pleased to see organizations, businesses, and events that lift up the voices of women.

Wine Bottle Still Life Product Photography:
Photographing wine bottles comes with its own unique set of technical challenges. There are so many fun tricks that I’ve learned over years of doing this work. The reflections caught in the bottles, the way the light twists and turns over the glass. These are the things that make this work fun for me. There is joy in taking both straight forward product photos of the bottle on a white background and as styled still life images.Do you need professional wine bottle photography?
