Pantone Very Peri – Beauty Photography
A studio beauty test shoot
It has happened again, my annual tribute to the Pantone color of the year. Very Peri is the 2022 Pantone color of the year. And I’ve had a lot of fun working in this color range. I wanted to throw together a variety of beauty looks. Since this is a test shoot I have the liberty of playing without worrying about it feeling cohesive. Really my only guiding principle is to keep the colors analogous to Very Peri.
For this studio beauty shoot I worked with Kalyn Slaughter. She is an Oakland based makeup artist who is among my go to people when I’m producing beauty or portrait work. The lovely model is Cheriann from Stars Management who rocked these looks.
Whenever I do a test shoot I start out with a general theme and then let the creativity flow on set. That little cheekbone flower was inspired by my longtime friend and client Danielle. Shortly before this beauty shoot I got the news that Danielle’s life had been taken. She loved flowers, so I asked if we could include one here in her honor. I love how the flower came out and how much joy and playfulness it adds to the images. Ok – enough words, you’re here for the photos not my ramblings.
