The Good Life | A kayaking, camping, road trip adventure
The was such a fun project for me. Working with my longtime model and friend Zoe West to create a series of lifestyle images that capture the joy of being outdoors. We camped, hiked, kayaked and drove through streams. I'm an avid road-tripper. I've driven from one coast to the other multiple times. And camped or hiked in almost every state in the country. So bringing my love for the outdoors to a photo project was thrilling on all levels.
Art Direction & Logistics
We wanted to keep the overall colors and mood very natural. So the wardrobe features colors you would naturally find in the scrublands of California. We had to capture a wide range of moments, from hydrating in the morning to drinking California craft beer by the fire. I worked with my favorite assistant - my partner Chris. Who was in charge of helping with lighting and equipment management. We kept everything else minimal to keep costs down and to help with creating an authentic experience.
